Electrical association for women

The Electrical Association for Women (EAW) was a prominent feminist and educational organization that was founded in Great Britain in the year 1924. Its primary mission was to actively promote the numerous benefits of electricity in the home and to encourage women to embrace this transformative utility for a better quality of life.

A brief History…. The Electrical Association for Women was founded in 1924 by electrical engineer Mabel Lucy Matthews, with support from Caroline Haslett of the Women's Engineering Society, after being initially turned down by the Institution of Electrical Engineers and the Electrical Development Association. The organization aimed to improve daily life by promoting electrification in middle and working-class homes and involving women in designing electric appliances and model homes.
